Welcome to Golden Hill
A bustling, historic suburb offering an iconic view of the whole city.
Golden Hill, a community with a populace of over 14,000, is located east of Downtown San Diego and south of Balboa Park, with great proximity to City College. Because of the large number of pre-1900 residential properties, it is one of San Diego's most historical and distinctive architectural neighborhoods.
Golden Hill first got its name in the late 1800s after it emerged as one of San Diego's top upscale districts. The stunning Victorian, Craftsman, and Colonial Revival mansions that line its hillside serve as a reminder of those opulent days. The community's appeal is further enhanced by the gardens surrounding many of these old houses, a treat that is open to all.
